We are an international emerging leader with offices in San Jose (California) and in Barcelona (Spain), and we are currently looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our R&D team in Barcelona.

What will you be up to at Vintra?

Our engineering team is responsible for creating and maintaining our analytics application, and for packaging and deploying our machine learning models in a highly available, high throughput, low latency processing pipeline. Here are some of the main responsibilities and challenges you will solve in this role:

  • You will be collaborating with the rest of the team to define, design and shape new platform functionalities.
  • You will design and develop scalable, high performance backend components for large-scale applications which will be deployed in private and public clouds.
  • You will work alongside researchers and other engineers to deploy custom ML models on modern GPU’s.
  • You will be analyzing and improving platform performance and assisting in ongoing projects for monitoring and management of our stack 

What we would like you to bring to the table 

  • 4+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems.
  • A solid knowledge of C/C++, Python or Java, and ideally you have played around with Go.
  • You have a strong knowledge of data structures & algorithm optimization.
  • You spend many hours of your days in Linux
  • You’re familiar with Kubernetes, and definitely know how to put your algos into containers.
  • Knowledge of image and video processing would be nice to have!
  • You are a results driven, self motivated person, capable of working both individually and within a team.

What we would like you to bring to the table

  • Solid experience with native JavaScript, as well as React.JS or Vue.JS
  • Strong knowledge of data structures.

UX Lead, Machine learning-powered video analytics 

Location: Remote – East Coast, United States

Vintra is an emerging leader in the video analytics space and has a mission to transform any real-world video into actionable and tailored intelligence so customers can build the safest and most productive organizations in the world. As cameras increasingly take center stage in how organizations plan to protect what’s important and make their physical spaces productive, the volumes of data these cameras produce is overwhelming.  The company’s machine learning-powered software works on any type of camera feed (CCTV, drone, dash cam, body cam, etc), can be deployed in the cloud or on-premises, and helps customers “know what the cameras know” for security, safety, and business intelligence.

The UX Lead position will own the experience and designs of our digital products. The role is both strategic and technical. It involves developing enterprise software for buyers and users of modern video analytics technology. The role requires design and research and interacting closely with the product lead, development team, key customers and sales. This is an opportunity to drive and form design and research at an exciting early-stage company. The company has a stellar team doing cutting-edge machine learning development, is going after a multi-billion dollar market opportunity, and presents a chance to do meaningful work that improves the safety of people and the productivity of entire organizations and cities.

What you will do as a UX Lead:

  • Be responsible for leading UX and designing high-quality products that delight customers 
  • Drive and synthesize customer discovery and understanding through contextual interviews, job shadowing and usability studies with end users
  • Understand customer needs, and articulate and explain those needs to the engineering organization
  • Create journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, or other artifacts to help with product development and understanding
  • Work with Product and Engineering Leads to craft an intuitive, simple, and powerful user experience

Must-haves:

  • 3 – 5 years experience working in UX in an agile development environment
  • Organized self-starter comfortable engaging with business and technology decision makers, end users, partner organizations and potential customers
  • Proven ability of User-Centered Design cycles with experience in the facilitation and management of customer research, design workshops, journey mapping and customer flows
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Ability to work with geographically distributed teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Fluent English; Spanish is a plus

VP of Engineering
Vintra is looking for a VP Engineer to join our innovative technology systems department.

About Vintra
Vintra is an emerging leader in the video analytics space whose mission is to transform any real-world
video into actionable and tailored intelligence, so customers can build the safest and most productive
organizations in the world. As cameras increasingly take center stage in how organizations plan to
protect what’s important and make their physical spaces productive, the volumes of data these
cameras produce is overwhelming. Vintra’s artificial intelligent-powered software works on any type of
camera feed (CCTV, drone, dash cam, body cam, etc), can be deployed in the cloud or on-premises,
and helps customers “know what the cameras know” for safety, compliance, and operations.

VP Eng. role
We are looking for an experienced VP of Engineering to manage a diverse development team. The
responsibilities of a VP of Engineering include leading a team of developers and engineers,
collaborating with product managers, and improving company policies and standards.

To be successful as a VP of Engineering, you should have prior organizational leadership experience,
be able to collaborate with team members, and be a strategic problem-solver. Ultimately, a top-notch
VP of Engineering should demonstrate excellent communication skills, an ability to connect with other
engineers and developers, and a have solid foundation in software design. You take pride in delivering
high-quality product on time, and understand what it takes to deliver software both in the cloud and
on-premises. You work well with colleagues in other functional roles, potentially in different time zones,
and you love the thrill and chaos of working in a start-up environment.

Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar Eng. studies and Master’s degree preferred
● 5+ years working as an engineer, ideally building large-scale distributed server applications
● 2+ years experience in VP role or in engineering management
● Strong spoken and written communication skills in English
● Solid Python and c++ skills and strong linux experience
● Good familiarity with databases; some familiarity with containerization technologies
● Experience with agile software development methodologies
● Plusses: Real-world experience with Computer Vision and/or machine learning
